Reducing False Alarms - Important

Most importantly, REDUCING FALSE ALARMS must be at the top of all of our priorities! AYS Wiring has continued to conscientiously inform our customers on how to stay “false alarm” free! Working together with others in the alarm industry, law enforcement, and local municipalities, we’ve learned how to promote the best practices and in doing so, we reduce incidents of false alarm dispatch.

False alarm dispatches affect all citizens; you, us, and the local resources for the community! Police and fire patrol hours and resources are limited; especially in the current economy we are experiencing and should never be wasted. There are many ways to prevent false dispatches. If authorities are dispatched to a false alarm, it could result in a fine and even a revocation of your permit!

Billing Policy & Payments

Billing Policy
Security services are invoiced in advance. Please make your payment by the due date indicated on your invoice to avoid additional charges.

Alarm Permits
Most jurisdictions in the Austin and surrounding areas require an alarm permit for residential and commercial properties. It is the owner’s responsibility to inquire with their particular authorities, and if required, to apply and pay for the permit. Typically these permits are issued and renewable on a yearly basis. Note: Some areas also require “non-monitored” but active systems have permits. Stiff fines and citations may be issued for non-compliance. If you need assistance in locating your particular jurisdiction or permit information, please contact our office and we will gladly help.

ECV
ECV (Enhanced Call Verification) is a very commonly mandated ordinance for many municipalities. It is a proven method of reducing false dispatches. We, at AYS Wiring, utilize this, as well as most other alarm monitoring companies in the state and throughout the country.

Basically, what this means is: If the Central Station dispatcher is unable to reach someone at your premise who can verify if an alarm is false, an additional verification attempt is made with the next person on your call list before the proper authorities are called.

You may select as many individuals on your call list as you would like for ECV.

Automatic Renewals
Please refer to the “monitoring” contract for further information. Generally, per your monitoring contract, your contract automatically renews for an additional period of one year until such time as the term is terminated by either party upon any of the following: (a) Customer’s written notice to AYS Wiring of Customer’s intention to terminate, given at least 30 days prior to the expiration date of the term in effect, (b) the failure by the Customer to make timely payment of the charges, (c) AYS Wiring’s 30 day written notice to Customer of Company’s intention to terminate the term for any reason deemed necessary for termination and allowed by law, and (d) if Customer uses or attempts to use the alarm system for other than its intended use or engages in abusive conduct with employees of Company or its monitoring Central Station’s employees, Company may terminate monitoring services to Customer upon a 10 day written notice.
